Our Work

The Giani Building

On a property that has been underutilized for decades, Woodward’s architects and construction resources successfully collaborated to bring 44 luxury apartments with ground floor retail to the corner of Canal and Camp Street.

As Design-Builder and Development Manager, Woodward renovated this historic architectural asset into a multi-family residential and retail facility, skillfully converting a set of three buildings into a new multi-family residential and retail development at the edge of the CBD and French Quarter. On a property that has been underutilized for decades, Woodward’s architects and construction resources successfully collaborated to bring 44 luxury apartments with ground floor retail to the corner of Canal and Camp Street.
The project combined three disparate buildings at 600 Canal Street, 604 Canal Street and 113/117 Camp Street into one, cohesive facility. The building offers 33 one bedroom and 10 two-bedroom apartments, along with a three-bedroom penthouse. Residents enjoy luxury living in the heart of New Orleans, with a rooftop deck and swimming pool overlooking Canal Street and the French Quarter.
The Giani Building project successfully restores a historic architectural asset to New Orleans, increases residential housing availability, and helps catalyze further development along the Canal Street corridor.
